Labeling a roof

Labeling is how the platform learns the shape of the roof. You trace each roof plane (panel) and tell it what each edge is. Everything downstream — the 3D model, cut sheet, BOM, and estimate — is built from these labels.

1. Draw the planes

• Switch to Draw mode (press D or the toolbar button).
• Click each corner of a roof plane to trace its outline.
• Press Enter or double-click the last point to close the shape (3+ corners).
• Repeat for every plane on the roof.

2. Label the edges

• Switch to Label mode (press L or the toolbar button).
• Click an edge, then pick its type from the popup (eave, ridge, hip, valley, rake…).
• Keep going until no edge is left as “unlabeled”.

3. Save

• The Save Labels button enables once every panel is fully labeled.
• Saving regenerates the cut sheet, BOM, and estimate automatically.
